Healing is not linear and navigating through breast cancer is challenging physically and emotionally. Listening and adapting to the body is important and each day can feel different. The purpose of my work is to reassure you by helping you understand what is normal while safely progressing back to an enriched quality of life.

BRCA

Women who are diagnosed with the BRCA mutation that choose to undergo a prophylactic mastectomy will also benefit from treatment and education, pre and post surgery. Our treatment sessions will support the overall healing process and help you to return to your previous activity level with greater ease and connection.

What to expect

Pre Surgery / Pre Radiation

  • Experience hands on treatment to have a baseline understanding of what your body feels + moves like prior to surgery/treatment

  • Learn what to expect after surgery

  • Learn Breathing + Relaxation Techniques to help ground you during surgery/treatment

  • Learn Range of Motion exercises to initiate once cleared by your surgeon/doctor


Post Surgery / During Chemotherapy / Radiation

  • Hands on treatment techniques (soft tissue/scar tissue mobility, John F Barnes Myofascial Release + Craniosacral Technique) to:

    • Decrease scar tissue formation, pain, tightness, and fear of movement

    • Increase mobility & body awareness

  • Range of motion/ mobility/ stretching Exercise

  • Strengthening/ conditioning exercise

  • Posture and alignment education

  • Learn mind body practices to increase body awareness and relaxation to facilitate reconnecting to yourself

  • Education of Lymphedema risk factors

  • Nutritional guidance

  • Lifestyle assessment

  • Learn self care practices to help you manage through treatment side effects

Ongoing & Lifelong Care

It’s common once treatment and surgery are completed to feel new pain and tightness in the involved and surrounding areas in the body.

  • Learn to maintain connection, strength, and balance in your body.

  • Develop body awareness through hands on treatment and mobility work.

  • Learn self-care practices to help you maintain your health and vitality.
